Radnor field hockey team is pleased to announce that we have raised just over $3,000 for @metavivor during breast cancer awareness month. Thanks to our car wash, clinic, bracelet and sticker sales, bake sale, and an additional donation from @main.line.mayhem we are proud to honor loved ones and fight for a cure for this terrible disease that we know has had an impact on the lives of so many we play with and play against. Metavivor is a non-profit whose main focus is dedicated to finding treatments and a cure for stage 4 breast cancer. The staggering statistic is that 1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime and roughly 30% of those go on to experience metastasis which is the only type of breast cancer people die from (stage 4). Metavivor focuses on funding research and treatment options that stop the spread of the cancer and ultimately every breast cancer patient benefits from this research. While we truly love playing in pink, what matters more is that we take action to help in the efforts for the cause. Sports are an incredible avenue to bring communities together and create unity, pride, and purpose. Part of “Dream Crazy” to us means never giving up and having relentless positivity and perseverance in all that we do and face both on and off the field. Thanks to all those who contributed in ways big and small to our efforts and all the other teams in our field hockey community that have joined forces with us to support Metavivor this October. Keep dreaming crazy with us for a cure!💕
